Kirkenes kirke ble bygget i 1959. Den har 275 sitteplasser. Litt historie: I 1857 ble det bestemt å bygge en kirke på den sørlige siden av Varangerfjorden. Sognet skulle hete Syd-Varanger Sogn. Først var Svartaksla på Jakobsnessiden tenkt som tomt, men så ble det bestemt å bygge kirken på Piselvnes mellom Pasvikelven og Langfjorden. Etter at kirken kom dit ble stedet hetende Kirkenes. Den første kirken var ferdig i 1862, og den sto til 1944. Da ble Kirkenes utsatt for kraftig bombing, og kirken brant helt ned til grunnen. Det gamle kirkespiret ble funnet, og har fått plass inne i dagens kirke.

Kirkenes church was built in 1959. It has 275 seats. A little history: In 1857 it was decided to build a church on the south side of the Varanger Fjord. The parish would be called: Syd-Varanger parish. First there was Svartaksla at Jakobsnes Since conceived as empty, but then it was decided to build the church on Piselvnes between Pasvik river and the fjord. After the church got there the place was renamed Kirkenes. The first church was finished in 1862, and it stood to 1944. Then Kirkenes exposed to heavy bombing and the church burned down to the ground. The old spire was found and has been placed inside the present church.
